This course investigates the concept of masculinity and the lives of men through a critical empathetic intersectional sociological lens. It examines how race, class, age, and ability shape the gender practices of boys and men. Through conversations about violence, sexuality, fatherhood, marriage, and work the class makes patriarchal power visible while recognizing the complexity of men's lives. Prerequisites: Sociology 271 or Sociology 301 or Sociology 332 and 2nd year standing required or Consent of Department |
