This course provides an overview of psychopharmacology as relevant to the practice of clinical psychology. It examines basic pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, as well as the history, rationale, and putative mechanisms of action of the major classes of psychoactive medications used in clinical practice. It also looks at various drugs of abuse and the biochemical basis of drug dependence and addiction.
