An introduction to geospatial data and Geographic Information Systems. The course covers creation, analysis, and visualization of geolocated data that can enhance our understanding of the world and help us make decisions informed by spatially distributed information. Practical skills with the Geographic Information Systems 'GIS' software to encode, manipulate and store digital geospatial data, create dynamic maps with satellite imagery and machine learning, understand global navigation satellite systems like GPS, and use ecological and population-based data in spatial analyses.
