The key elements of municipal and federal legislation designed to protect the environment. Special emphasis on those areas of law which government, industry, environmental managers and researchers are likely to encounter in performance of their work. Lecture and seminar topics include the process by which legislation is written, passed and reviewed by the various levels of government; both Canadian and international legislation will be discussed. Legislation dealing with transboundary issues will be reviewed. Prerequisites: Environmental Science (6) and 2nd year standing required |
