Special attention given to biologically important molecules, as well as to compounds of significance to industry, including fats, detergents, aromatics, sugars, pharmaceuticals, amino-acids, and biopolymers. Laboratory work includes problem solving and illustrates some of the more important reactions covered in lectures.
